Traffic Chaos in Surbiton and Thames Ditton

Last week was Blue Monday when it rained all day without stopping and all the Christmas bills supposedly landed on the mat and made us all feel really depressed. Today was just travel chaos. Off I went to Surbiton to do a bit of a 'top up' shop and I ended up blocked at almost every turn.

Surbiton High Street
Portsmouth Road was partially blocked so I went all round the back streets just to get to Surbiton. Then, Victoria Road, my little cut through to Waitrose, was closed too so I went down another road on to the high street, only to be blocked there at the roundabout by temporary lights that seemed to take forever to change green. Have the council deliberately closed all these roads near where I live just to annoy me?

ReportNot sure how long it's going on for but I'll avoid Surbiton for a while. Anyone know about the hole that appeared in Portsmouth Road overnight? The police had to close off the road - weird!

ReportI knew it would be a bit of a nightmare there, but didn't realise that the bus stops have been moved, especially the one to go to Kingston is now next to the Clock.
