  • Surbiton Hockey Club hosts "Big Weekend"

    Surbiton Hockey club are preparing for a "Big Weekend" which is a fundraising drive to help improve facilities. The club based on Sugden Road have 12 senior men's sides and 8 ladies league teams, which include a number of England internationals. They're putting up the stands for a weekend of games.     Surbiton's hockey stars have been staring in the improving Great Britain men's team.  Yesterday Team GB ran out 4-1 winners over a good Pakistan team in the Olympic Riverbank Arena. The result leaves GB equal top of Pool A with old foes Australia.  The two teams are due to play each other on Sunday evening at 7pm.   Surbiton superstar, James Tindall scored a great goal in the first half of the Pakistan game. ...

    Surbitons Moe Sbihi wins an Olympic Bronze medal with Team GB
    Moe Sbihi from Surbiton won an Olympic bronze medal yesterday after sacrificing silver going all out for gold in a thrilling men's eight final at London 2012.    The British men's eight also took a medal today - a bronze – after a gutsy row in which they took the race to the unbeaten Germans in the first half but did not have enough to hold on to the line, leaving Canada to take silver from a fast finish.  ...
