Tolworth based Radio Jackie DJ, Eddie Castle has raised 25% of his target to raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Trust.

In May 2013 he'll be travelling, in total just under 6,000 miles from the UK to India in just over ten days and will involve navigating through the foothill's of the Himalayas.

By day 5 of the journey the group of fundraisers will be crawling up Dhauldhar Mountain range before walking 26km to Lahes Cave by the end of day 7.

It's all in a bid to raise nearly £3,000 for the charity.

The hospice offers unique facilities such as a gym and hydrotherapy pool.

Patients have access to doctors, dedicated nursing staff, physiotherapists and complimentary therapists such as make-up artists.

He's been training with Nathan Busuttil who works for Greenwich Leisure Limited at Queen Mothers Sports Centre, SW1.

Eddie spoke about his training: "I've really had to get fit for this trip, it's not been easy but I'm getting there!"

"There's only three months left now for me reach my target so I'm hoping listeners, fans and friends can dig deep for this great cause."

"You never know when you might need the Marie Curie trust, so we to show them some support."
