It's all going on at Rubicon
The Rubicon Bar in Maple Road is a trendy bar with funky furnishings and a wide range of fancy drinks and cocktails. I must admit to feeling rather self-conscious when visiting with all the young good looking crowd, but once you’re in it’s difficult not to like this bar. They specialise on cocktails and have a two for one cocktail deal on Sunday to Friday from 6pm to 8pm. They often have DJs at the weekend, but the music usually fits in with the lounge feel of the bar.
They have a lovely small garden that is hidden at the rear. The bar does take bookings for private parties and serves some unusual and cutting edge meals and platters of international food. There is also an excellent smaller lounge bar in the basement.
What really sets out the Rubicon from other bars (apart from the lovely cocktails) is the quality and originality of its events. We spoke to Liv behind the bar who told us about all of the upcoming events. This bar really does make an effort with live music, Comedy nights, a Supper Club, Mummys who Lunch, and meet-the-author Book Club. Gorgeous Cocktails
I met my friend in Surbiton last week and we went for pre-dinner cocktails at Rubicon. They mixed me a delicious Cosmopolitan (very SATC I know but it went with my shoes). She had a mojito and it was also very good. I highly recommend it.

love this place!
what a gorgeous bar...everyone is really friendly. Me n my friends booked the downstairs area last week for a party & didnt have 2lift a finger..the food was yummy...they've got a decked garden with heated sitting area so no more punishment 4 us smokers!Order a sex & the suburbs ladies!
