The Surbiton Christmas tree lights were turned on today by Father Christmas from his special sleigh that looked suspiciously like an old milk float! There was some great entertainment throughout the afternoon with choirs from local schools, a brass band, dancing and some great songs by the cast of the Little Shop of Horrors who are currently at the Arthur Cotterell Theatre in Kingston. Starbucks, COOK and the organisers of the Surbiton Farmers' Market were all providing refreshments. A quick shout out for Helen and Claire of Surbiton's Hypoxi Therapy Centre (see pic 3) who were dressed as apples, but looked rather elf like. Most of the entertainment took place outside Surbiton station, but there were also choirs in Brighton Road and a brass band outside Waitrose. All in all, this was a great event and the tree looks great.
