Sunday saw the annual Seething Festival take place in the area of Seething Wells, Surbiton. As previously reported, the festival is organised by the same people who organise the Ski Sunday event on St Mark’s Hill. The organisers are based at The Lamb pub and are responsible for many other Surbiton based community events.

The highlight of the Seething Festival, based around a fictional legendary goat-boy called Lefi Ganderson, was a parade. The parade consisted of some strange sights including the goat-boy being carried along by what appeared to be 4 six-foot tall guinea pigs! There was also an excellent brass band, which was supposedly representing the talc miners of Seething.

The parade started off at Jewson’s yard in Brighton Road, then turned left into Victoria Road, left again down St Andrew’s Road, then back to The Lamb pub via Maple Road. Despite the poor weather, there was a good turnout and there were even quite a few bemused onlookers cheering them on.

As usual with these events it was very strange, but lots of fun too. For more information on Seething and Lefi check out the website. http://tinyurl.com/5szt56p
