Surbiton road users set for months of delays
Central Surbiton is set for major road-works that could cause delays for over two months. These yellow advance warning signs have been put out warning of Gas Main replacement works starting on 17th January in Victoria Road, St Mark’s Hill and Claremont Road.
The signs do warn of the possibility of long delays due to the use of temporary traffic signals. However, surbitonpeople has been advised that the work on St Mark’s Hill could take until the 23rd March to complete. St Mark’s Hill has already been subject to similar works several times last year.
The contractor has said that they will try to keep delays to a minimum, but that they couldn’t guarantee exact timings. The work in Claremont Road is due to be completed by the 4th February.
