Winter is on its way, so don’t leave it too late to prepare.  Make sure your boiler has been checked and serviced; ready for what might be a long winter ahead.  It’s also worth checking that those storage heaters that haven’t been turned on for months are ready for when that cold snap starts.

It’s always a worry when you need to pay for a tradesman or engineer.  Using word of mouth and getting a recommendation from a friend or relative is often a safe way of choosing who to use.  If you’ve had any good experiences, then why not share them with the rest of Surbiton by writing a review on

Watertight Solutions provide plumbing and heating services throughout Surbiton and Surrey.  Or how about Capitol Engineering Services orAJF Heating, both are recommended by Gas Safe Register

If you’re experienced enough to do the work yourself, why not take a visit to Awan Heating, Plumbing and Bathroom Specialists Ltd at 39 Brighton Road.  Or why not take a visit to Jewson, also in Brighton Road, who have a wide range of DIY plumbing goods and that all important thermal loft insulation.  For cavity wall insulation, you might like to give Tony Curme of Tolworth Construction. Tony is also a member of Checkatrade

Finally, trek on down to Surbiton Library during October where you can borrow an energy monitor which will enable you to check how much household power you are using.  The monitors provide a continuous display of how much power is being used.  They are available free for all Library members.

Keep warm!
