I cannot believe you omitted The Lamb - which must surely be the best pub in Surbiton. It is quirky and a little alternative, but in a very good way. Adam and Liz always have 3 interesting ales on (in excellent condition, which is more than can be said for some of the pubs round here), a good choice of wines and they do fabulous cheese plates. Oh, and did I mention the atmosphere? It's one the friendliest pubs around, and they host regular charity, community and music events and support the local arts. Plus the monthly Homage de Fromage cheese club.

Hi Greenlightsal, thanks for the post. Well our pubs and bars reporter knew that there would be support for the Lamb - it was a close call to make his top 5. Here in Surbiton we have a wide range of bars and pubs for all tastes and the Lamb is certainly loved by many.
We love the quirky and alternative looks and there is always a lovely atmosphere in the pub as you say. The charity events are without a doubt amazing and can't be faulted. So there you have it - we are fans of the Lamb and of the way that Adam and Liz run the place. However, all pubs will have their fans and we have tried to take everything into account, including decoration, toilets, gardens etc. The Lamb has a special place in our hearts and it clearly has a loyal following, but taking everything into account our pubs/bars reporter decided it didn't quite make the top 5 this year.
Feel free to give us your own top 5. We think you'll find it harder than you think.
Also, don't foget that you can review all local pubs and services right here on surbitonpeople.co.uk.

I love GB's and the Vic but don't really go in to any others. I might try the Waggon and Horses from your recomendation. It's a bit further than I would usually travel from central Surbiton though. Oh I like the one by river as well. Can't think what it's called at the mo.
Hi SurbitonTony. Our top 5 pub and bars were (in no particular order): The Victoria, Gordon Bennett, Waggon & Horses, The Antelope and Rubicon.

3 of them are on the one road (Maple), didn't the reviewer manage to stagger any further? LOL!
Although I've only been in the Lamb on one occasion the amount it contributes to the local community and the number of its fans I'm surprised it didn't make your top five.
