I note that water levels are very low at the Reservoirs, lowest I've seen for some time. A clear indication of the extended period of time we've had in the South without extended rainfall. Need some soon.

It's true we haven't had much rain for a long time, but I think that the developers have emptied them somehow recently. I think it was so they could see what state the walls and bottom were in.

Ok, didn't know that. The question remains, though - If they've emptied them, where did all the water go? They must store it, surely. They wouldn't just waste it by emptying the water into the river, just before summer, one would think...

The water went into the Thames. I was told at the Exhibition that they will not be refilled until after the building works and they are only putting in one metre of water around the buildings.
The cynic in me thinks that they want the Filter beds to look as bad as possible so people will think anything is better than their present state.

I think you may be right that they want it to look as bad as possible at the moment. However, I don't think that the filter beds actually work or have any use at the moment, so I don't think it's a waste of water. The water has been sitting in the filter beds for many years and is stagnant as far as I know. Does anyone know for sure?
