My house was 1 of 3 house break-ins yesterday in the Surbiton area, all within a 1.5ml radius. Police have said that there is a gang in the area and you should be on your guard, even during the short time it takes to do the school run

Thanks for the info Dasistdaz. I hope it wasn't too bad for you. A similar thing happened in New Malden. Police advised to make sure windows are closed when you are not around and be careful leaving open back doors, even when you are at home. The most useful thing we can all do is keep an eye out for our neighbours homes and call the Police if suspicious.

Yes, we were broken into a month or so ago. My neighbour saw the guy, but didn't realise what was happening. Cash and jewellery was all they were after, so consider fitting a safe for your little bits of silver etc .. you can't stop them getting in, but you can make sure they leave with nothing.
