News has reached surbitonpeople.co.uk of yet another power cut affecting parts of Surbiton this afternoon. Surbiton residents have had to get used to power cuts in recent years with previous cuts shutting down shops and businesses in Victoria Road last year. The Berrylands area has also suffered power cuts regularly and rather famously the Cranes Park area had the Red Cross dispatched to provide hot drinks and advice to local residents during a particularly long period without electricity.
EDF have always stated that none of the instances of power cuts were related, but local residents are now questioning this. James who lives in South Bank near Surbiton Station said he was frustrated at being unable to work on the bank-holiday Monday. “Like many other people living locally, I work from home and rely on having an uninterrupted electricity supply. It was a relatively short cut this time, but there must be a reason why this keeps happening to Surbiton. Accidents will happen, but there’s clearly an ongoing problem that we are not being told about.”
With winter coming up the continuation of the power supply problems is very worrying. Have you suffered from a cut to you r electricity supply today? If so, let us know. We’ll be contacting EDF tomorrow to get an explanation.
