Does anyone know of any swimming pools in the area (happy to take a bus or train ride to Kingston, New Malden, etc) where I can pay per session, or perhaps pay a monthly subscription to swim only? I'm not interested in joining a gym full of equipment I won't use - I just want to swim! I've found a few pools online that appear to be part of a gym or larger organisation (Kingfisher, David Lloyd Leisure) but none seem to clarify if I can just pay per session. Any help gratefully received!

Yes, the Malden Centre in Blagdon Road, New Malden offers pay as you go swimming sessions, I've not swam there myself but have seen the pool and its a decent size. Visit http://tinyurl.com/3po8d6m Happy swimming!

Yes, the Kingfisher in kingston is pay as you go. I take the children there and simply pay 8 odd quid for the 3 of us. There's also a children's octopus in the paddling section, but my children are too old for that, but heh.

Thanks, fenderstring. Might well check that out, too. Just hope the octopus isn't too tempting and gets me thrown out! I do miss being younger...
