Tim Witherspoon and a host of other British and World boxing stars are coming to Surbiton on Tuesday 19th July.  The Saucy Kettle pub in Brighton Road has a proud history of having boxing legends visit the pub, with the owner being good friend with many famous boxers.

The special evening celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Big Fight when Britain's Frank Bruno fought 'Terrible' Tim Witherspoon for the Heavy weight crown in Wembley stadium, with Mohamed Ali and Henry Cooper looking on.  It was a tremendous fight and this will be a great chance to speak to both of the fighters.  Check out this excellent write-up of that special event.

There will also be a host of other boxing champions in attendance and you will have the opportunity to take part in signings and have your photograph taken with them.

If you like boxing, this is an event not to be missed.  Surbiton is very lucky to host such a top class even and there's nowhere else you should be other than the 'Kettle' this Tuesday.

I will be working late that night, but I'll be dashing back to meet some of my idols.  Say hi to me if you see me – should be a great evening.

Thanks for the comments and clearing that up. Really looking forward to the event and didn't realise that money was being raised for some great charities too.

Hi! Great to see the event mentioned here. I just want to clarify, Frank Bruno is not actually expected tomorrow- rather, the victor of the fight- Mr. 'Terrible Tim' Witherspoon. Also, Robin Reid, Julius Francis, Colin McMillan, Glen Catley and Kevin Mitchell (who beat John Murray last weekend) are expected.
There are a number of item of fab memorabilia up for auction from the world of boxing, but also some football and motorsports items- you could nab yourself a piece of sporting history! In addition, there will be chances to have gloves signed by the stars in attendance, and to have your photograph taken with them! Proceeds go to cancer charities and Help for Heroes.
    See you there Surbitonians!
