Surbiton's Seething Festival returns
If you don't know the background, you'd better check out the Seething Wells website for further information. Any explanation by us is certain to confuse! The 2012 Festival takes place on Sunday 26th February. The day will start at 2:30pm in Jewsons Yard, Brighton Road. There will be a chance to make your own mask and/or head-dress for the Grand Procession around Seething at 3.30pm. Following the procession there will be more entertainment in and around the Lamb pub until it ends at 6pm.
You can come in fancy dress, normal clothes or join one of the Ancient Guilds of Seething (!) - The Cheesemakers, The Talcum Miners, The Taxonomists, The Water-Bearers, The Sardine Fishers and The Curriers.
If you'd like to get more involved and help prepare for the big day, you can attend the workshops at the Lamb Pub in Brighton Road on the 18th, 19th 25th and 26th February. The fun runs from 1pm to 4pm.
You can check out photographs of the 2011 Festival in our galleries. Even if you don't fancy taking part, it's a great day to have a drink or two and cheer on the parade.
