Over 1100 people took on an apprenticeship last year across Surbiton and Kingston.
That's according to the latest figures.
They were released as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
Commenting, Kingston and Surbiton MP Edward Davey MP said: "Apprenticeships are a brilliant way for young people to learn the skills and get the experience necessary for a successful career."
"Liberal Democrats in the Coalition Government have promoted and invested heavily in apprenticeships because they are one of the most effective ways of helping young people get jobs."
"It is vital we get our economy moving again, and nothing is more important than giving young people skills and experience."
"Already we are seeing unemployment fall and the number of people in work has actually gone up by a million since the Coalition Government was formed."
"Good jobs and new skills are what the apprenticeship scheme is all about."
Did you take up an apprenticeship? If so how are you finding it?
