Surbiton High Boys' prep have managed to win gold in a regional gymnastic competition, putting them closer to compete in the national finals.
At the weekend Matthew Boucher and Jack Mellors represented the Boys' Prep in the Schools' Regional Acrobatic Gymnastics competition.
For the last few months they have been working on a two-minute paired floor routine which included choreography, individual gymnastic skills and static paired balances.
They arrived early on the Sunday morning feeling a little nervous but anxious to get going.
The boys had a few minutes of warm up time on the competition floor where they worked out their spacing and added finishing touches to their routine.
Once that was done it was just time to keep warm and wait for their turn.
They went on and performed a fantastic routine which had the crowd clapping along to the music.
The boys took the gold medal and showed that all of the extra hours of hard work that they have been putting in really paid off.
They will now move forward and represent Surbiton at the National Finals in Stoke on Trent in May.
