Surbiton Filter Bed development refusal appeal?

The MD of Hydro Properties has said they're considering an appeal against a planning committee's decision to refuse a housing development on Surbiton Filter beds.
Last week, a unanimous vote from councillors dashed hopes of 60 new homes and new marina being built on the Portsmouth Road site.
Hydro boss, Philip Wallis said: "We're might appeal the decision which is inevitable."
"It's a decision we won't accept, we don't accept and we will fight."
"I want professional people to advise me on protocols and procedure."
"It's not being said out of sour grapes, we feel as if they made a terrible decision and I would say that as I got a refusal."
"The debate and the decision for refusal just did not fit the nature of this application and the genuine debate that was warranted."
Shortly before the planning meeting, a number of organisations, including Sport England withdrew their objection to the development.

Quite so. Mr Angry just doesn't get it, does he? People don't want his scheme. Thames Water sold him the site for a meagre £1m because it was designated a protected area. If it had been designated for significant commercial development they wouldn't have let it go for less than £10m. Hydro took a punt and were turned down. Now they should move on.
