Night working to complete Victoria Road road-works on Thursday

The road works that have covered most of Victoria Road for the past 10 weeks are on course to be completed on Thursday 22nd September.  Today and tomorrow the work will carry on throughout the night in order to finish on time.

During this time the following changes to the traffic diversion route will be in place:

• Victoria Road will be closed from St Mary's Road to St James Road.
• The section of St Andrew's Road between St Phillip's Road and Victoria Road will remain open only for access by residents and businesses that need to park in that area.
• The diversion route will be changed. Traffic including buses will be directed to travel in both directions along St James Road, Maple Road and Brighton Road.
• The bus stop outside Sainsbury's in Victoria Road will not be in use and temporary bus stops with one for each direction will be provided in Brighton Road.

The section of Victoria Road outside the station will be affected and this will require the station exit to be closed.  Special traffic management arrangements will be put in place to control traffic flow into and out of the station forecourt.
