New Surbiton coffee shop to replace Southern Brew

The Southern Brew café in Claremont Road closed recently, but work is going on to re-open as a new coffee shop. Southern Brew was owned by a South African brother and sister. They were lovely people, but somehow the inside of the café didn't really entice people in. This has been the case for the last three cafes that have opened up on the site.

Now we haven't actually spoken with the new owners yet, although we have exchanged emails. But we've put our Sherlock Holmes hat on and have been making some enquiries. We presume that a recent advert for a Head Barista is for the coffee shop that is taking over this site – we can't think of anywhere else it could be.
The advert states: 'I am about to open up a fabulous and unique coffee shop in Surbiton, near Kingston Upon Thames and am looking to recruit a team of individuals, to work with me, to have some fun and to serve the best coffee in south west London. If you are passionate about coffee and believe you have the ability to deliver outstanding customer service there may be a place in my team for you. I would love to get a great mixture of people together who will bring different levels of experience and personalities.'
The advert asks people to reply to an email address for White Tiger Coffee, although it's not known whether that will be the name of the new coffee shop when it opens in June. Although Surbiton is well catered for in coffee shops, there are plenty of times when it's difficult to get a seat in them, particularly during the weekends. If it's good enough I'm sure it will succeed. Let us know if you hear any news!
