Forget the hassle of overcrowded public transport and taxi fares that you'll need a mortgage to pay for – stay in Surbiton for your New Years Eve celebrations. New Years Eve can be confusing, with some pubs charging entrance fees, some putting on entertainment and some closing later than others.
Check out our list of some of the Surbiton pubs and bars below. Feel free to let us know of any other special events or other pubs charging to get in. Please beware of arriving at pubs too late on New Years Eve, as you may not be allowed in.
The Antelope, Maple Road: DJ Rockin' Ray Stevens playing the best party hits. Entrance is free and no ticket required.
Black Lion, Brighton Road: DJs Andy Nuttall and Johnny Freeman playing disco, funk and eighties house classics. Last orders 1am. Entrance is free.
Bosco, St Mark's Hill: Dirty Retro DJs playing Electro/House (I've no idea what that means!) and 90s Club Classics. Dress – glitzy, glam and ready to party. Open until 2am. £12 in advance or £20 on the door.
Coronation Hall, St Mark's Hill: No ticket required. Open until 1am.
Duke of York, Victoria Road: Ticket only event, but they are free if you pick them up before the night. Special NYE three-course dinner including half bottle of wine for £39.95. Last orders 1pm.
Fox & Hounds, Portsmouth Road: Open until 12:30am. No entrance fee.
Gordon Bennett, Maple Road: Playing non-stop party anthems. Open from 6pm until the early hours. Entrance is free with no ticket required.
The Grove, Maple Road: Disco and buffet. Advance ticket only - £10. Open until 2am.
Harts Boatyard, Portsmouth Road: Live music with the Kate Eden Quartet from 8pm. Bar menu or book (8399 7515) for the NYE set menu dinner for £40.
The Lamb, Brighton Road: Fancy dress party with a theme of 'SteamPunk' (You'd better check out their Facebook page!). Tickets available in advance from the pub are £10. They promise some fantastic entertainment. Open until 3am.
The New Prince, Ewell Road: 70s Karaoke Disco. Fancy Dress – no kids. Entrance is free.
Rubicon, Maple Road: DJ Philfy Phil playing party classics at The Vintage Party. Dress – 'vintage style' – put on the whole glam ensemble or just a hint of something. Bottle of champagne for best dressed. Open until 2am. Entrance is £12, which includes a glass of bubbly.
Saucy Kettle, Brighton Road: £5 entrance with tickets on sale now.
Surbiton Flyer, Victoria Road: Food available until 8pm, top party tunes throughout the evening. No entrance fee.
The Victoria, Victoria Road: Last orders 1am. No entrance fee, but they do expect a donation to the Macmillan Nurses charity.
Waggon & Horses, Surbiton Hill Road: NYE party. Food served until 10pm. Open until 3am. Entrance is free.
