Angry commuters have been expressing their anger at South West Trains via twitter after signalling problems have left hundreds of people stranded.
South West Trains have put this down to a "Major Signalling" problems at Waterloo, meaning the mainline can't run from Clapham Junction.
Charlotte Jackson @Lottejackson expressed her disdain by tweeting: "Avoid Surbiton station if you're heading towards Waterloo. Delays & cancellations. Ridiculously crowded. Fun times."
Hundreds of people have lined the platforms, with claims that trains aren't picking up commuters.
Jon Tytherleigh @snu***ki says: "There r 100s people stuck at Surbiton-delayed/cancelled r u sending 1/2 empty trains thru?!One even stopped&didn't open doors!"
KitKat @kittykatg added: "train just stopped @ Surbiton plat 2 & left without taking on passengers. What a joke."
With trains terminating at Surbiton, passengers are being advised to seek alternate routes.
South West trains have apologised for the delays and have said that trains leaving Waterloo are approximately 40 minutes late.
Tickets are being accepted on the tube, buses and Southern and FGW.
