A group of young Surbiton entrepreneurs have been selected to represent the UK at the European Trade Fair to be held in Zurich at the end of March. Fortis, a group of enterprising students from Surbiton High School's Young Enterprise Group, have been selected out of 4,500 schools in the country for the honour.

Enterprising students and teachers at Surbiton High School
Fortis is one of three Young Enterprise companies at Surbiton High School. They have created a product which consists of a phone case combined with an Oyster card holder, which makes losing your Oyster card more difficult. The idea came through market research into personal safety especially for the younger generation, which showed that these two items (phone and Oyster card) are essential.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Managing Director, Lucy Plenderleith and Deputy Managing Director, Serena Iesini said "We are honoured to be representing both our School and nation at the European Trade Fair in Zurich and we are very grateful for the support we've received from Surbiton High and the opportunities we have to promote personal safety amongst young girls."
It's great to hear that a Surbiton school is providing opportunities for students to learn such skills. Congratulations to all those at team Fortis. You can check out their website, or follow them on Twitter @fortis100.
