Plan ahead and don't miss the Olympic flame which will be coming through the heart of Surbiton on the morning of Tuesday 24th July. It will be coming just before 9am, so why not arrange to go to work just a little late and cheer on the flame through your home town.
The Olympic Flame travels through the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames on Tuesday - nearing the end of its epic 70-day, 8,000 mile journey across the UK. The flame will be carried through the Royal Borough of Kingston by 27 Torch Bearers. But the main event will be when the torch bearers run through Surbiton - using Hook Road, Upper Brighton Road, Victoria Road, Claremont Road, Surbiton Crescent and Surbiton Road. The flame then makes its way into the centre of Kingston.
There are plenty of things that could change the times slightly, but the official target times for Surbiton are as follows:
- 08:22 Hook Community Centre
- 08:27 Elm Road
- 08:28 Hook Road
- 08:44 Upper Brighton Road
- 08:55 Victoria Road
- 08:59 Claremont Road
- 09:04 Surbiton Crescent
- 09:07 Surbiton Road
- 09:08 Penrhyn Road
The flags are flying, the Olympic banners are out and the bunting is now up in Claremont Road. Don't miss this once in a lifetime event!
