Child followed by orange van in Long Ditton

Police are investigating reports of an orange van following a 12-year-old girl in Long Ditton.

The incident happened on Friday afternoon while the twelve year old girl was looking for her dog in Wessex Close at about 5.30pm.

She was followed by a small light orange van with a sliding door.

When she opened the gate which leads to the alley between 2 railway bridges off of Wessex Close, an Asian man got out of the van and followed her down the alleyway.

The man turned around and ran back towards the van when the girl's friends called out to her.

The man is described as Asian, 5 foot 5, wearing dark blue denim jeans and a green hooded top.

The girl was unharmed, but we would ask that you remain vigilant at this time and ensure that any further incidents are reported at the time to Surrey Police on either our non emergency number, 101, or 999 as appropriate.
